The BC Ministry of Health Medical Beneficiary and Pharmaceutical Services Division takes developing its leaders seriously. In a bold move and with the assistance of Berlineaton, the Assistant Deputy Minister invested in 360 Degree Assessments for all its four Executive Directors.
Project Overview
In January 2014, four Executive Directors embarked on the courageous journey of being the subject of 360 degree assessments – a leadership development tool used to tease out leadership strengths and blind spots.

Feedback is received from others ‘around’ the leader being assessed. Questions used were based on a set of predetermined behavioural competencies. The results culminated in a report of key themes – all of which can be used to formulate a road map where strengths are amplified and blind spots are revealed and eliminated.
The 360 assessments were completed in July 2014, and provided the basis for an action plan intended to strengthen each ED’s leadership abilities.
As a result of the 360 project, the leadership team is more engaged and has refocused their energies on being stronger leaders in their division.

Will your organization exist five years from now?
Organizations that thrive excel in three areas:

  • Direction: a clear, widely shared, and aspirational vision of the future and a compelling road map to get there.
  • Process: clear, effective and efficient steps that create meaningful outputs. Daily tasks and deliverables yield their best results when processes are clear and strong, and aligned with organizational objectives. Processes facilitate the alignment of action with direction.
  • People: People make it all happen. People have the skills, capacity, and impetus to translate strategic intent into reality. Ultimately, people and the culture they create drive an organization towards its chosen future.
